Mount Carmel Girls’ High School, Ajni run by the Sisters of the Apostolic Carmel Congregation  was started at Dhantoli in June 1955 at the express invitation of Archbishop Eugene D’Souza.

For the first few years we had very few pupils on roll. When the High School was started in 1970 we were obliged, for want of accommodation, to move into our new school building at Ajni.
