Mount Carmel Girls’ High School, Ajni run by the Sisters of the Apostolic Carmel Congregation was started at Dhantoli in June 1955 at the
express invitation of Archbishop Eugene D’Souza.
For the first few years we had very few pupils on roll. When the High School was started in 1970 we were obliged, for want of accommodation, to move into our new school building at Ajni.
Mount Carmel Girls’ High School, Ajni, Nagpur, is a Christian School established primarily for Catholics and administered by the Sisters of the congregation of the Apostolic Carmel, of the Roman Catholic Church.
The school aims at an all-round education of girls to fulfill a noble role in life. Hence attention is paid to the spiritual, the moral, the intellectual, the social and physical aspects of education. Though primarily established for Catholics, the school does not exclude others on the ground of religion, caste, creed or status at the time of admission.
Presently we have Veronica Pre-Primary School, at Ajni, Mount Carmel Girls’ Primary School at Dhantoli and Mount Carmel Girls’ High School at Ajni, Nagpur.
